SKÅL International Koh Samui, largest of Thailand’s six clubs, appointed a new Executive Committee during its AGM in September 2022.    

Moving up to a new role as Club President is Jane Soergel, former Acting President and GM of U Samui resort, supported by Vice President, Santi Wongsawat, Founder and owner of the Phensiri Group of restaurants, also Gastronomy advisor to the club. 

During the meeting Jane, a SKÅL member since 2014, highlighted a successful year for the club with membership edging towards the 90 mark and despite the pandemic, a full calendar of face-to-face monthly networking events.  Other highlights were 7 webinars in the series ‘SKAL Talks Thailand’ aimed at supporting members with their plans for recovery, educational workshops focusing on PR & Marketing and development of the consumer- facing destination marketing campaign #ReDiscoverSamui – now adopted by all SKÅL Thailand clubs.  https://rediscoversamui.com/

Jane who is also the driving force behind the successful Samui Summer Jazz Festival which will be back again in May 2023,  said, “SKAL gives hospitality a strong voice and is inspirational on so many levels.
